1. Enrollment
The enrollment form should be fully completed and returned as soon as possible. Should a course be fully booked, the applicant will be informed immediately and recommended alternative courses.
2. Course fees
Fees are calculated on the basis of the current schedule of fees. Course fees are payable on receipt of the invoice and before the beginning of the course. Remittance to one of the accounts of the German Gemmological Association (DGemG) is preferred. To guarantee a reservation in an English course, DGemG must receive a completed application and a 10% tuition deposit!
3. Confirmation
On acceptance of the enrollment, the applicant will receive a course confirmation that should be submitted to the course secretary on the first day of the course.
4. Time-Table
Classes are from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. each weekday including a two-hour lunch break from 12.00 2.00 p.m., except on fridays when courses end at 12.00 a.m.
5. Cancellations
Your notice of cancellation must be made in writing to the secretariate. Tuition refunds will be handled according to the following rules:
a) For cancellations received at least 6 weeks before commencement of the course, the amount refunded will be the full tuition paid less the non-refundable tuition deposit (10% of the total course fees).
b) For cancellations received between 6 and 3 weeks before commencement of the course, the amount refunded will be 75% of the full tuition paid, 25% will be detained for administrative expense.
c) For cancellations made less than 3 weeks before commencement of the course and in case of non-appearance course fees will be detained in full.
The cancellation fees will be due even if the course fees have not been paid at the mentioned time. In case of c), DGemG has to assume that it will not be possible to find a substitute in such a short time. Special reasons for the cancellation cannot be taken into account.
6. Cancellation of courses
DGemG retains the right to cancel or reschedule a course at any time. If cancellation should become necessary, the applicant will be informed at least three weeks before the originally planned commencement date, except in case of force majeure and unavoidable events, which might be notified at a later date. If cancellation should occur, DGemG will refund the full amount of the paid course fees. The applicant has no right to further claims.
7. Accommodation
A list of accomodation will be sent to the applicant together with the course confirmation. Students can make their own reservation. For further information and also reservation the following address may be contacted:
